CURRENT CONSTRUCTION UPDATES:

11/9/2025: We’re excited to share that Phase 1 of our renovation project is nearly complete and is expected to wrap up by the end of the year! Phase 2 will begin in mid-February, bringing even more improvements to our shelter. We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and support as we continue making our campus a better place for the animals in our care.

As part of these Phase 2 changes, and to help our dogs feel safer, calmer and more comfortable, the dog adoption floor will be viewable through a picture-perfect window, allowing our amazing team of staff and trained volunteers to work uninterrupted in the kennels.

To help everyone adjust smoothly, we’ll begin this new process gradually:

• Starting Sunday, November 16, 2025: Visitors will check in at the front desk and complete their visitor/adopter profile paperwork until an experienced escort is available.
• Families interested in adopting will be shown up to three dogs at a time, guided by a team member throughout the visit.
• Potential adopters are encouraged to view adoptable dogs on our website beforehand and/or call 772-223-8822 to inquire about specific dogs.

The cat and critter adoption areas will remain open to visitors throughout the day without an escort.

We know this is a change from how things have been, and we’re grateful for your cooperation and kindness during this transition. These updates will create a more humane environment for our dogs, allow for better interactions with potential adopters, and enhance the adoption experience for everyone.
